Interlachen Man Convicted Of Videoing Teen Girls In Bathroom

Friday, October 26th, 2012

And here we go again, another pervert that the girls knew and trusted. I am not sure that stiffer laws and penalties for this particular type of crime would do any good at curving it at all. We would fill the jails though. This is only going to get worse with the availability of hidden cameras for home use. Many are selling what they record. The act of videoing teen girls as well as other women is big business these days.

A jury deliberated for less than an hour Wednesday after a two-day trial before finding an Interlachen man guilty of secretly videotaping teenage girls.

Frank Landon Adams, 53, used a hidden camera in 2009 and 2010 to film two 16-year-old girls when they used his home’s guest bathroom, according to a State Attorney’s Office news release.

Adams also put a hidden camera in one of the girls’ bedroom closets so he could tape her.

He was convicted of four counts of video voyeurism, all first-degree misdemeanors, according to the news release…Read more…

Police say a Maryland man trying to film two female roommates with hidden cameras instead filmed himself and unwittingly helped authorities catch him in the alleged act of peeping.

Michael Stephen McKenny, 42, was arrested Thursday after Maryland police released footage of the alleged Peeping Tom setting up his cameras, which the women found.

“What we found is that the camera had been set up in June and operated through a motion detector,” said Sherry Llewellyn, a spokeswoman for the Howard County Police Department.

In court documents, police say that for more than four months McKenny captured images of the unnamed women in their bathrooms and bedrooms, in all stages of undress, even…Read more

The Use Of Bug Detectors To Ensure Your Privacy

Sunday, October 21st, 2012

We hear so much about the misuse of hidden cameras and the lack of policies or programs being implemented by the public places and businesses where many of these offenses are occurring. More often than not, we are being videoed without our knowledge. Some of it we are not going to escape, since CCTV is being used more prevalently than every before by police and Big Brother to gather information in an effort to deter crime. It has been said that the average person is captured by surveillance cameras about 72 times a day. That is pretty astounding to me.

Since I am in the business of providing surveillance equipment to businesses and home owners alike, I am sure I hear far more news and information on the illegal misuse of hidden cameras and self contained hidden cameras with built in DVR’s. I am also aware of the rise in sales of counter surveillance equipment such as bug detectors.

I was married on October 19th 2012, that was two days ago. I was married at a place called the Stroudsmoor Country Inn in Stroudsburg, PA. It was a wonderful place to have our wedding and reception and we cannot say enough good things about our experience with the owners or staff. We highly recommend the place if you are looking for a marriage venue.

However, with all that is taking place concerning the misuse of the technology that is available today in the way of hidden cameras, I had a problem with leaving our privacy to chance.

With all I had read and the few hidden cameras I had uncovered in the past for other people, I felt the place had to be sweep for audio and other hidden surveillance equipment even though the place had a sterling reputation.I did not want us to end up on some porn site on the internet or some sick perverts computer for their own sick personal pleasure, and it does happen.

Understand, that I at no time thought or believed that the establishment itself would have anything to do with the placement of any such monitoring devices. They have the highest rating for satisfaction on all levels and lived up to it all from beginning to end. We will most certainly visit again and I cannot speak highly enough of their service and attention to detail.

It is almost always an employee that slips through the cracks during the hiring process and carries out such actions on their own and unbeknownst to their employer for their own twisted reasons.

The areas that needed to be cleared were, and to my great relief there was nothing found. Two of us worked with two separate bug detectors. The one pictured above and the model shown below. Both are excellent and cost effective, and both are available to the general public. spy gear and counter surveillance equipment is not just for professional spy’s, the police, or private investigators anymore.

Frequency Detector with Strength MeterIf you travel a lot, staying in motels and hotels, or rent villas or other homes while on vacation, you should not let your own privacy or the privacy of your family to chance. The incidences of being videoed in public and private places illegally has skyrocketed in the past few years and I am sure that the trend will continue to grow. Businesses have not come up with the solutions or the programs to effectively battle what is now taking place, and it is up to us to protect ourselves from those who are using these hidden cameras and spy equipment illegally for their own personal gain.

Privately I believe them to be the cat’s meow. And I believe they are great at deterring and solving crimes. That is why I sell them. I do not trust our government to do the right thing with the info that they are collecting on each and every one of us.They do bring down crime and I do believe in them. Not so happy with our government.
